A man who impersonated a New York Department of Social Services employee has been accused of sexually abusing a resident at a shelter facility on Long Island. Deer Park resident Alfred Balcerak, age 65, pretended to be the DDS employee to gain entry into a shelter facility in East Farmingdale, on Sunday, Sept. 6, according to Suffolk County Police. A Long Island cardiologist and registered sex offender will spend years in prison after he admitted to possessing thousands of images depicting child sex abuse. Frank Pollaro, age 55, of Deer Park, was sentenced to four to eight years behind bars in Suffolk County Court on Monday, Sept. 9, after pleading guilty to child pornography charges. A Long Island man has been accused of possessing child pornography. Following tips from the New York State Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, Suffolk County Police Digital Forensics Unit detectives launched an investigation into the suspect from Deer Park.
