Married Couple Killed After Car Slips, Hits Long Island Utility Pole During Snowstorm: Police An elderly man and woman killed in a Sunday evening crash in Levittown have been identified, Nassau County police announced on Monday, Jan. 6. The fatal accident occurred at 5:30 p.m. on Loring Road, detectives said. Gerhard Frobart, 89, of Farmingdale, was driving a 2001 Ford Taurus southbound with Ella Gimpel, 88, of East Meadow, as his passenger when the car veered off the roadway and struck a utility pole, police said. Frobart was pronounced dead at the scene. Gimpel, who suffered critical injuries, was transported by Nassau County medics to a nearby hospital, where she later died.…

Boy Critically Injured After Being Hit By Car In North Amityville A boy suffered severe injuries in an overnight Long Island crash. It happened around 9:10 p.m. Monday, Oct. 28, in North Amityville. The 17-year-old was walking westbound across New Highway at the intersection of Pine Road when he was struck by a 2007 Toyota Prius traveling southbound, according to Suffolk County Police. 14-Year-Old Severely Injured In Sunrise Highway Crash A teenage suffered critical injuries in an overnight Long Island crash. It happened on Friday, Oct. 4, at 9:40 p.m. in Merrick, according to Nassau County Police. A 41-year-old man operating a 2023 Ford pickup truck traveling westbound on Sunrise Highway (Route 27) was involved in a collision with a 14-year-old boy riding a bicycle northbound on Merrick Avenue.   The boy suffered serious injuries and was transported to a local area hospital for treatment.
