Bomb Threat Made To High School In Region Acting on a tip, the FBI and local law enforcement charged a person with allegedly making a bomb threat against a high school in the region. The incident occurred in Dutchess County on Sunday, Nov. 17. Dr. Dwight Bonk, superintendent of schools for the Wappinger Central School District, said the threat was made against Orchard View Alternative High School in Wappingers Falls. Bonk said the FBI received a tip about some online activity that led them to a home in the District. In Albany County, administrators at Farnsworth Middle School in Guilderland contacted police on Thursday afternoon, Feb. 1 saying a student had been found with a list threatening “serious harm” to school members. Vengeful Gambler Admits To Mailing White Powder To NY Gaming Commission A 73-year-old man has admitted to threatening employees at the New York State Gaming Commission and mailing the agency envelopes full of white powder. Brent Carter, of Las Vegas, pleaded guilty to conveying a hoax and false information in federal court in Albany Friday, Jan. 13.
