Man Found Sleeping In Stolen Car At Wilton Gas Station, Police Say
A man is facing charges after he was allegedly found sleeping in a stolen car at a Capital Region gas station.
Saratoga County Sheriff’s deputies responded to the 7-Eleven on Route 50 in Wilton for a welfare check at around 5:30 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 18.
Deputies arrived to find Joseph Plummer, 35, of Galway, asleep in a vehicle at a gas pump, the agency said. He had been sleeping in the car, which had been reported stolen out of Massachusetts, for several hours, according to police.
Plummer was arrested on suspicion of possession of stolen property, a felony. He was released on an appearance…

An early-morning fire tore through an apartment building in Saratoga County, killing one person and injuring six others Wednesday, Dec. 4, authorities said.
The fire broke out around 3:45 a.m. on Monday, Dec. 4, at 54 Broad Street in Waterford, where officers arrived on the scene and assisted with evacuating residents from the second-floor apartments, according to a press release from Public Safety Commissioner Michael J. Shudt.

Saratoga County Man To Spend Years In Prison For Violent Sexual Attack
A Capital Region man found guilty by a jury of a violent 2023 attack and sexual assault faces up to 25 years in prison.
Saratoga County resident Michael Pelletier of Moreau was convicted on Wednesday, Sept. 25, for the Saturday, June 24, 2023 attack, said Saratoga County District Attorney Karen A. Heggen.
According to court documents and testimony, Pelletier violently assaulted a 32-year-old woman, physically and sexually, inside his home with children present.
The woman, who was injured all over her body, was transported to Saratoga Hospital for her injuries.

An ex-cop turned podcaster is hoping to breathe new life into the cold case killings of two young women whose remains were discovered in upstate New York.
On a recent episode of his true crime podcast, APB Cold Case, retired Costa Mesa, California police chief Mark Spawn discussed the murders of 18-year-old Jennifer Hammond and 19-year-old Christina White.
The women disappeared in August 2003 and June 2005, respectively, and were last seen near mobile home parks in the Saratoga County town of Milton.

Saratoga County Sheriff’s officials said Thomas Krider, age 40, of Ticonderoga in Essex County, was found dead at a residence in Milton on Middle Line Road on Tuesday, April 9.
Krider, who performed as an Elvis tribute artist under the stage name TJ Greene, had last been seen on Friday, April 5, and was officially reported missing the following day.

The owner of a fence building company is accused of taking thousands of dollars from area homeowners for jobs that were never completed.
Schenectady County resident James Butler, age 30, of Glenville, was arrested on Friday, Feb. 23 on a felony charge of grand larceny.
Glenville Police said Butler, who owns and operates “Trust a Fence,” accepted over $7,000 from a Glenville homeowner to purchase fencing material. However, the job was never finished.

Saratoga County resident Gabriella Lopez, age 14, of Malta, had last been seen on Thursday, Dec. 21, 2023.
On Friday, Jan. 12, sheriff's officials announced that she had been located.

Special Delivery: Man Ships Meth To Capital Region, Sells Fentanyl, Feds Say
A 46-year-old man is facing federal charges after allegedly shipping methamphetamine to the region from out of state and selling fentanyl.
Michael Laudicina, of Santa Cruz, California, was arraigned on drug charges in Albany federal court on Thursday, Jan. 4.
Prosecutors said Laudicina shipped at least 50 grams of meth to Albany, Ulster, and Warren counties on three occasions between July and November 2022.
He also sold fentanyl – a powerful, synthetic opioid that’s nearly 100 times stronger than morphine – in August 2022, prosecutors said.
