9 Students, 1 Adult Injured In School Bus Crash In Region
Nine students and an adult were injured during a two-vehicle crash involving a school bus in the region. The crash occurred in Orange County around 9 a.m., Monday, Oct. 28, at the intersection of Route 52 and Route 17 in the town of Crawford. According to Crawford Police Chief Dominick Blasko, a 2021 Dodge truck was traveling eastbound in the eastbound lane of Route 52 when it collided with a 2024 First Student school bus. Hudson Valley Man Killed In Crash Between Truck, Car
A Hudson Valley man was killed in a two-vehicle crash. The incident occurred in Dutchess County around 8 a.m., Thursday, June 13, on Route 52 at the intersection of Leetown Road in the town of East Fishkill. According to Chief Derrick Cuccia of the East Fishkill Police, a preliminary investigation revealed that a 2006 Mack truck (Tri-County Carting garbage truck) driven by a 55-year-old Brewster man was traveling eastbound on Route 52 when it struck a 2018 Subaru that was exiting Leetown Road. Man From Region Caught Burglarizing Tattoo Shop By Employee, Police Say
A 34-year-old man from the region was nabbed after he allegedly broke into an area tattoo studio. The incident took place in Sullivan County in the town of Liberty around 9:40 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 11 at the City Lights II Tattoo Studio on Route 52. According to Sullivan County Undersheriff Eric Chaboty, the sheriff's department responded to the studio after receiving a report of a burglary in progress. The Village of Liberty Police arrived on the scene first and detained the suspect for the responding deputies, Chaboty said. Deputies arrested Byron T. Santiago, age 34, of Woodbourne. …

Murder Charge: 16-Month-Old Girl In Region Dies At Hands Of Couple, Police Say
A man and a woman from the region have been charged in the death of a 16-month-old girl found unresponsive in the lobby of a motel. The incident took place in Sullivan County around 7:30 p.m., on Tuesday, May 2 at the Knights Inn Motel in the village of Liberty. According to Liberty Police, officers responded to a 911 call for a child in cardiac arrest at the motel located on Route 52. Husband, Wife Die After Falling Through Ice In Sullivan County
A husband and wife died while on a fishing trip after falling through thin ice in the region. The incident took place in Sullivan County around 8:15 p.m., Monday, Feb. 27 in the hamlet of Loch Sheldrake.
