IDs Released For 5 Family Members Killed In Murder-Suicide In Quiet Suburban NY Neighborhood
The identities have been released for five family members who were killed in a murder-suicide in a residential Long Island community. The incident happened just before noon on Sunday, Aug. 25 at a residence on a cul-de-sac in Syosset. Nassau County Police say officers who responded to the residence on 76 Wyoming Court for a report of shots fired discovered a man outside the home who "sustained an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound." The suspect accused of killing a beloved Pittsfield and Greenfield man was returned to Massachusetts to face charges after being held in New York for more than two months. A Hudson Valley mother of three has died at the age of 50. Dutchess County resident Jennifer J. Strang-Thrasher, of Wassaic, died on Sunday, February 4, at Mid-Hudson Regional Hospital in Poughkeepsie. Strang-Thrasher, born in Connecticut in the town of Sharon in Litchfield County, was a graduate of Dover High School and Dutchess Community College. Funeral details and a statement from the family have been released after five women returning from Umrah in Mecca, Saudi Arabia were killed on Interstate 81 on Tuesday evening, Jan. 16. The women "were on their way back home from the Dulles airport," their family told Daily Voice. They were struck dead by a tractor-trailer at the 199.3-mile marker in Scott Township, approximately 12 miles north of Scranton, troopers detailed in a release. Colleagues and loved ones are mourning the loss of a young postal worker from the region following his untimely death. Czsar Lewis, of Albany, died on Sunday, Oct. 2, at the age of 24, according to his obituary. A cause of death was not given.
