'Sing Sing', Based On Events In NY, First Film Shown In Prisons, Theaters: Report A movie based on a theater program at a maximum security prison in the Hudson Valley is making history by becoming the first film to be screened in prisons across the country, according to a report by The Hollywood Reporter.  "Sing Sing," based on the Rehabilitation Through the Arts program at Sing Sing Correctional Facility in the Northern Westchester village of Ossining, will again be released in theaters on Friday, Jan. 17. ID Released For Woman Who Died After Jumping From Bridge In Hudson Valley Police have identified a woman who jumped to her death from a bridge in the region on Tuesday, Nov. 14. Original report: Woman Jumps From Newburgh-Beacon Bridge Trooper AJ Hicks of the New York State Police announced on Thursday, Nov. 16 that the body of Dutchess County resident Stacy M. Shanahan, age 49, of Beekman, was the person who was found dead under the Newburgh-Beacon Bridge near Fishkill.  No signs of foul play have been discovered at this time, Hicks said. The Dutchess County Medical Examiner’s Office was on the scene aiding in the investigation.

The incident happened around 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 21 in Dutchess County on Merritt Boulevard near Vanderbilt Way in the town of Fishkill. Joseph Smith, age 57, formerly of Fishkill in Dutchess County, was sentenced to three and a half years behind bars after pleading guilty in February 2022 to charges of conspiracy to commit wire fraud and tax evasion.
