Capital Region Police Seize Cocaine, Heroin, And Hallucinogens In Madison Avenue Drug Bust
Three Albany residents are facing felony charges after detectives recovered cocaine, heroin, and hallucinogens during a search warrant execution on Madison Avenue, police report.
Detectives from the Albany Police Department’s Community Response Unit executed a search warrant on Thursday, Dec. 19, around 2 p.m., at a residence on the 800 block of Madison Avenue near Quail Street.
The operation, part of an ongoing investigation, led to the recovery of powdered cocaine, heroin, hallucinogens, and drug paraphernalia, said Albany Police Public Information Officer Megan Craft.

Two people, including a Fairfield County resident, face charges after they were caught with heroin, cocaine, and prescription medication in the Hudson Valley during a suspected drug deal, police said.

A couple is facing charges after investigators found hard drugs and trafficking materials inside their home in the region, police said.
Rensselaer County residents Jacen Blair, age 46, and Rebecca Gorman, age 33, were arrested at their Hoosick Falls residence Friday, July 12, following a multi-agency drug trafficking investigation.
Sheriff’s officials said a search warrant executed at the couple’s Scott Street home uncovered approximately 71 grams of cocaine and fentanyl, along with a 22-caliber rifle.

Man Busted Selling Fentanyl At Senior Housing Complex In Capital Region, Police Say
A man from the region is accused of selling hard drugs, including fentanyl, at a senior housing facility.
Rensselaer County resident Dwayne Lee, age 34, of Troy, was arrested Tuesday, June 18, after deputies executed a search warrant at the John F. Kennedy Towers senior living development on 6th Avenue in Troy.
According to sheriff’s officials, Lee was found in possession of 40 grams of cocaine and fentanyl, along with packaging materials, scales, and an undisclosed amount of cash.

The general manager of a gentleman’s club in the region is facing federal charges after he was allegedly busted in an undercover sting selling drugs.
Luiggi Canessa, who manages Shenanigans gentlemen's club in Schenectady, is named in a complaint filed in US District Court in the Northern District on Tuesday, April 9.
FBI agents began investigating a “wide array of crime” occurring at the club, as well as an adjoining business, Sheer Pleasure Lingerie, in late 2023, according to the complaint.

Miami-Bound Fentanyl Dealer Nabbed In Hudson Valley, Cops Say
An alleged fentanyl dealer in the region who was headed to Miami, Florida was nabbed by drug task agents before he could leave.
Dutchess County resident Jose J. Cruz, age 22, of Beacon, was arrested early Monday, March 25 in Hyde Park by members of the Dutchess County District Attorney’s Office Drug Task Force.
According to Det. Sgt. Adam Harris of the Task Force, Cruz had been under investigation for the sale of fentanyl and other drugs in Poughkeepsie, Hyde Park, and the surrounding areas.
During the investigation, Cruz made several drug transactions with Task Force agents.

'Sadness, Anger' After 8 Fatal Drug Overdoses In 8 Days Reported In Capital Region City
Police in the region are sounding the alarm after eight people died from drug overdoses in as many days.
All eight deaths occurred in Schenectady between Saturday, July 1, and Saturday, July 8, according to police.
The most recent occurred in the city’s Stockade neighborhood. An autopsy revealed that the person died from drug intoxication.

A former police officer at several municipalities in Westchester and Dutchess counties has been convicted for the murders of four men in Orange County after a drug deal that went bad.
According to an indictment that was filed in White Plains Federal Court, Nicholas Tartaglione killed Martin Luna, age 41, Urbano Santiago, age 32, Miguel Luna, age 25, and Hector Gutierrez, 43, at the Likquid Lounge in the town of Chester in Orange County following the botched cocaine deal in April 2016.
