Police in the region are asking for information after an occupied home was damaged by gunfire. The incident occurred in Dutchess County around 9 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 12. on Rinaldi Boulevard. According to the City of Poughkeepsie Police, all responding officers and detectives searched for the suspect, who managed to escape. An investigation determined that an occupied residence sustained damage due to gunfire. Crime Scene Technicians responded to investigate. Hudson Valley Police Chief Calling It A Career After 40 Years
After over 40 years, a police chief in the region is calling it a career and retiring. City of Poughkeepsie Mayor Yvonne Flowers announced Tuesday, May 21, that Police Chief Tom Pape is retiring, effective Friday, May 24. An accused drug dealer was nabbed with a large quantity of fentanyl for sale in front of an elementary school in the region, police said. The incident occurred in Dutchess County on Thursday, Feb. 1, in the City of Poughkeepsie in front of Clinton Elementary School. According to Sgt. Two Dutchess County alleged drug dealers have been charged with the criminal sale of controlled substances after an investigation by a drug task force. Dutchess County residents Tyrese Elting, age 24, of the town of Poughkeepsie, and Brandon Mima, age 20, from the city of Poughkeepsie were arrested on Tuesday, Nov. 14 during separate raids by the Dutchess County Task Force. Verizon Landline Phone Outage Reported Across Several Hudson Valley Counties
Several police and fire departments in the area are reporting phone outages for those with Verizon landlines. The outages began on Sunday, Oct. 2 in Dutchess, Orange, and Ulster counties and affected police and fire department seven-digit numbers. The outage continued Monday, Oct. 3.
