Update: Dead Body Found On 1-90 Identified As Capital Region Man
A person found dead on I-90 near the Patroon Island Bridge by state Department of Transportation workers has been identified as a Capital Region man. New York State Police said Lawrence N. Viscio, 58, of Albany, was found by the employees at 8:30 a.m., Tuesday, Dec. 3. His cause of death is pending autopsy and further investigation. Troopers closed the right lane of I-90 following the body's discovery in Rensselaer for about 1.5 hours for investigation purposes. The investigation is ongoing. This remains a developing story. Breaking: Two Killed In Raging Capital Region House Fire
Two people were found dead inside a Capital Region home after a raging fire destroyed the structure. Albany County Sheriff Craig Apple, Sr., said the fire started around 2 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 4, in the town of Knox on Thompsons Lake Road. Sheriff’s Deputies spotted the home fully engulfed in flames. Shortly after, the Knox Fire Department arrived, and with the assistance of the Berne and Altamont Fire Departments, they extinguished the fire. Police are investigating after a dead body was found inside a home in the region. Albany County Sheriff’s deputies made the shocking discovery at an Albany residence in the West Hill neighborhood, located on Sheridan Avenue near Henry Johnson Boulevard, on Thursday, July 11. Deputies obtained a search warrant for the home after learning of a possibly deceased individual inside. Woman Found Dead In Hudson River On Christmas Eve Tentatively Identified
A woman who was found floating in the Hudson River on Christmas Eve has been tentatively identified. The body was discovered in Dutchess County around 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 24 near Waryas Park in the city of Poughkeepsie. The body was taken to the Dutchess County Medical Examiner’s Office for an autopsy and identification of the remains, said Det. Lt. Matt Clark of the city of Poughkeepsie Police. Police are investigating after a body was found in a river in the region. The discovery was made Wednesday afternoon, July 12, in Rensselaer County, along the Hudson River in Troy. Police and fire crews recovered the body near the city’s Madison Pier, not far from the Green Island Bridge, Troy Police said. A New York hospital is suing a former morgue employee for allegedly sharing graphic and “disturbing” autopsy images on social media. Authorities are investigating after a missing 30-year-old man was found dead in a Capital Region park. The man’s body was discovered in Saratoga County at around 2 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 31, in Congress Park in Saratoga Springs, according to police.
