State police in Saratoga County stopped Albany resident James Delessio just after 9 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 20, as he drove on I-87 in the town of Malta.
A trooper had observed his Honda Accord commit multiple moving violations, police said.
During their conversation, troopers determined that Delessio was intoxicated. He was also found to be in possession of drugs, police said.
As troopers attempted to arrest Delessio he resisted and injured a trooper, according to police.
He’s now facing multiple charges, including criminal possession of a controlled substance, assault, and tampering with evidence, all felonies.
Delessio was also charged with misdemeanor resisting arrest, obstructing governmental administration, harassment, and driving while intoxicated.
Following his arraignment at the Malta Town Court, he was ordered held at the Saratoga County jail on $4,000 bond.
