Among the key issues that Long Island voters will decide is Suffolk County’s Proposition 2, aimed at improving water quality. If approved, the measure would add a one-eighth of a cent sales tax increase – or 12.5 cents on every $100 spent – to expand the sewer system. It would also provide tax-free grants to Suffolk County homeowners on septic systems to connect directly to the sewer system. According to the National Weather Service, clouds will increase on Tuesday, Oct. 29, and temperatures will be in the low 60s.
