A murder investigation is underway after a man was found slain in a makeshift tent just steps from a Long Island police station. The victim was found in Central Islip, near the intersection of Suffolk and Carleton avenue, at around 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 18, as Daily Voice reported. A man was found dead inside a makeshift tent near a busy Central Islip intersection, sparking a homicide investigation, Suffolk County Police announced on Tuesday, Feb. 18. The body was discovered at approximately 12:30 p.m. inside the enclosure on the south side of Suffolk Avenue, near Carleton Avenue, police said. Investigators have not determined how the man died. One person was killed and two others hospitalized in a crash between an SUV and car on a Long Island roadway. It happened Friday, July 5, at 10:20 p.m. in Central Islip. The victim was driving a 2009 Honda Accord northbound on Carleton Avenue.
