Broad-Daylight Execution: Man Gunned Down At Busy Long Island Intersection, Police Say

A man was shot and killed in broad daylight at a busy Hempstead intersection, sparking an intense homicide investigation, Nassau County police announced on Sunday, March 2.

Gunfire erupted at the corner of West Graham Avenue and Peninsula Boulevard just after noon on Saturday, March 1, leaving a man bleeding out on the pavement, authorities said.

When Hempstead police arrived at 12:22 p.m., they found the victim unresponsive with multiple gunshot wounds, according to detectives. Officers fought to keep him alive before rushing him to a nearby hospital, where he was ultimately pronounced dead by a physician.

The shooter remains on the loose as Nassau County Homicide Squad detectives scramble for leads.
