Uncle Sam Just Picked The Capital Region As THE Place To Develop America’s Chip Industry After years of advocacy, US Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer announced that an Albany County business has been selected as America’s first location for the National Semiconductor Technology Center (NSTC), which will be supported by an up to $825 million federal investment. Schumer announced that Albany NanoTech had been selected on Thursday, Oct. 31. Going Once: Hotel In Region To Be Sold At Auction After several years of being operated by a management company, a popular, well-appointed hotel in the region is being auctioned next month. According to Ten-X, the 121-room Holiday Inn Express in Dutchess County on Route 9 in Poughkeepsie will be auctioned on Wednesday, Nov. 20. The company-owned property was originally put up for sale in 2020, but it was pulled due to the pandemic and market plunges.  Ten-X says the property is offered unencumbered by management and debt.
