Downed Tree, Wires Close Route 36 Stretch In Carmel A stretch of Route 36 in Putnam County is closed to traffic thanks to a downed tree and wires in the road. The closure of Drewville Road (Route 36) between Stoneleigh Avenue and West Shore Drive was announced by the Carmel Fire Department on Wednesday, Jan. 29 at 3:15 p.m.  According to the fire department, it is not yet known when the road will reopen. The incident happened in Putnam County on Thursday, Jan. 16 around 10:20 a.m. on the southbound Taconic State Parkway in Putnam Valley north of Exit 25, according to 511NY. According to New York State Police, a single car traveling south crashed into the center guard rail. No injuries were reported.  The parkway was cleared as of 1 p.m.

Kathy Hochul said a $32.4 million resurfacing project has started on a 5.5-mile stretch of Interstate 287 (Cross Westchester Expressway) between Westchester Avenue in Harrison and Route 1 in Rye.  According to Hochul, the project will repair road joints, add new pavement, and upgrade road striping on the stretch of highway, which is part of one of the busiest roadways in the Hudson Valley. …
