Driver Rescued From Flipped Car In North Salem Firefighters had to free a driver from their overturned vehicle following a crash in Northern Westchester. The incident happened on Saturday, Jan. 11 at 6:20 a.m. when a car rolled over on Titicus Road (Route 116) in North Salem, the Croton Falls Fire Department said on Thursday, Jan. 16.  Arriving fire crews found that the driver was trapped inside and worked to stabilize the vehicle with struts and cribbing.  Once they finished stabilizing it, crews removed the car's sidewall to get to the driver.  The response took around an hour.

Police ID Man Killed In Late-Night Minivan Crash In Orange County A Brooklyn man was killed late Tuesday night, Dec. 10 when his van veered off the road and struck an embankment in Monroe, authorities said. Ulugbek Yunussov, 62, was behind the wheel of a 2012 Chrysler van that left the roadway and struck an embankment on Larkin Drive around 11 p.m., NY State Police said. Yunussov was extricated from the vehicle as EMS began lifesaving measures. Yunussov was transported to Garnet Health Medical Center in serious condition but later succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead, police said. The crash remains under investigation. Divers Recover SUV Submerged In Creek In Hudson Valley A vehicle was pulled from a creek in the region after its driver’s attempt to cross the water went wrong, according to authorities. The incident occurred around 2:30 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 28, in Ulster County, in the Esopus Creek near Fording Place Road in Marbletown.  Deputies from the Ulster County Sheriff’s Office said the driver of a 2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee and a passenger managed to reach the shore safely before responders arrived. 1-Year-Old Rescued From Locked Car In Hudson Valley As the temperatures soared to 98 degrees, police in the Hudson Valley rescued a 1-year-old boy from a locked car. The incident occurred in Rockland County around 2:15 p.m. on Tuesday, July 16, at the Costco parking lot in Nanuet. According to Det. Norm Peters of the Clarkstown Police, an officer, found the child's father outside the vehicle who said he had accidentally locked the door with the boy inside.  Peters said the officer who could see the boy in the back seat immediately broke the vehicle window.
