Car Engulfed In Flames On Taconic Parkway A vehicle fire prompted an early morning response on the Taconic State Parkway. The blaze happened on Saturday, Oct. 19 around 8:30 a.m. in Northern Westchester, when an SUV caught on fire on the southbound side in Hawthorne. Arriving fire crews soon found the vehicle consumed by flames and quickly hosed it down, putting the blaze out completely.  The response took around an hour and sent plumes of smoke up into the air on the parkway, as seen in images of the fire released on the Hawthorne Fire Department's social media page.  No injuries were reported.

Car Goes Up In Flames Near Taconic State Parkway In Yorktown A vehicle blaze near a parkway in Northern Westchester sent a column of smoke into the air before it was put out by firefighters.  The fire happened in Yorktown on Sunday morning, Aug. 25, when a vehicle was consumed by flames on Underhill Avenue near its crossing with the Taconic State Parkway, according to the Yorktown Heights Volunteer Fire Department.  Arriving fire crews were soon able to extinguish the blaze, the department said.  No injuries were reported.

Vehicle Catches On Fire On New Tappan Zee Bridge, Impacts Traffic A vehicle fire impacted traffic on the new Tappan Zee Bridge off the shore of Westchester County.  The blaze happened on Thursday, Aug. 22 just before 11 a.m., when a truck caught on fire in the northbound lanes of I-87 on the bridge near the Tarrytown shore, according to the New York State Thruway Authority.  The incident temporarily caused the left lane to be completely blocked. Two Vehicles Go Up In Flames On Busy Parkway In Northern Westchester Multiple people were injured after two vehicles caught on fire on a busy parkway in Northern Westchester. The incident happened on Monday, May 20 around 11:45 a.m., when three cars were involved in a collision on the Saw Mill River Parkway in Chappaqua at Roaring Brook Road.  According to the Chappaqua Fire Department, arriving crews found two cars on fire and a damaged third vehicle.
