A new traffic pattern will be in place for more than six months on a busy roadway in the region. The New York State Department of Transportation (DOT) is advising motorists in Northern Westchester County that the new pattern controlled by temporary signals will be on Route 6/202 in Cortlandt. Roadwork is scheduled for a busy stretch of I-684in Northern Westchester. The New York State Department of Transportation (DOT) is advising motorists that the northbound side will be reduced to one lane between Exit 6A (Route 22) in Lewisboro and Exit 7 (Route 116) in North Salem, on Thursday, Sept. 19, between 10 p.m. and 5 a.m., to facilitate bridge work, weather permitting.

A busy roadway in Northern Westchester will have intermittent closures for a six-hour period over the weekend. The New York State Department of Transportation is advising motorists to expect the sporadic 15-minute traffic stoppages along Route 9A between Browns Lane and Skyline Drive in Mount Pleasant on Saturday, Sept. 14, between 8 a.m. and 2 p.m., to facilitate overhead wire work.

Work has commenced on a multi-million dollar project that will restore a well-used stretch of highway in Westchester, officials announced. In an announcement this week, New York Gov. Kathy Hochul said a $32.4 million resurfacing project has started on a 5.5-mile stretch of Interstate 287 (Cross Westchester Expressway) between Westchester Avenue in Harrison and Route 1 in Rye. According to Hochul, the project will repair road joints, add new pavement, and upgrade road striping on the stretch of highway, which is part of one of the busiest roadways in the Hudson Valley. …

Commuters should note that a section of I-84 will be reduced to one lane in each direction for bridge painting. A months-long closure of a roadway in the region is now underway. The New York State Department of Transportation advises motorists traveling in Northern Westchester County that Illington Road will be closed at the Taconic State Parkway in the Village of Ossining.
