Dunkin' Burglary Suspect In Region Nabbed After Crawling In Drive-Thru Window
A burglary suspect from the region was nabbed after he was caught on surveillance video crawling through a Dunkin' Donuts drive-thru window. Sullivan County resident Paul A. Ellis, age 38, of Monticello, was charged with burglary and petit larceny on Monday, Oct. 14. According to Monticello Police Lt. Mark Johnstone, an investigation into a Dunkin' burglary at 144 Jefferson St. in Monticello on Thursday, Oct. 10, found that Ellis forced his way through the drive-thru window when the business was closed. Hudson Valley Man Busted With Kilo Of Cocaine During Traffic Stop, Police Say
A Hudson Valley man is behind bars after he was allegedly busted with a kilo of cocaine during a traffic stop. Ulster County resident Anthony Johnson, age 41, of Kingston, was stopped on Thursday, Oct. 10, on I-87 while driving a 2018 Audi Q7 in Orange County in Cornwall. According to Trooper Steven Nevel of the New York State Police, a probable cause search of the vehicle during the stop by troopers and K9 Moran yielded a kilo of cocaine and $7,739 in cash. New Jersey Sen. Bob Menendez was convicted on corruption charges Tuesday, July 16. The jury found Menendez, a Democrat, guilty on all 16 counts after prosecutors accused him of giving secret information and military aid to Egypt in exchange for various favors, according to a release by the US Department of Justice. Menendez, a power broker in Hudson County and former chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee had professed his innocence. Electronics, Cash Stolen From Parked Cars In Hudson Valley Neighborhoods
Authorities are warning residents to lock their cars after electronics and cash were stolen from several vehicles in multiple Hudson Valley neighborhoods. The thefts were reported in Putnam County on Friday morning, June 14, when Carmel Police learned that unlocked vehicles had been entered in the South Lake and North Lake Boulevard neighborhoods in Mahopac.
