Police Holding Training Exercise At Putnam Hospital Center: 'No Cause For Alarm'

A day-long increase in police presence at a Hudson Valley hospital is only a drill, authorities announced.

A training exercise is being held at Putnam Hospital Center in Carmel on Tuesday, Oct. 8 until 2 p.m., the Carmel Police Department announced.

During the exercise, the department said that members of the Putnam County Multi-Agency Police Emergency Response Team from Carmel and Kent will be participating with other first responders.

As a result of the drill, there will be an increase in law enforcement and tactical team presence. However, there is "no cause for alarm," police said.
