Alert Issued For Missing 15-Year-Old Girl From Hempstead
Authorities are asking for help in locating a missing teenager from Long Island. Susan Staple, 15, was last seen leaving her Hempstead residence on Pine Street at around 9:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 19, according to Nassau County Police. Staple is 5-foot-6 and 150 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes. She was last seen wearing a blue jacket. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Nassau County Police Department at 516-573-7347 or call 911. A small twin-engine plane experiencing mechanical problems landed on the New York State Thruway in the Capital Region Friday, Dec. 20, New York State Police said. The incident occurred after 12 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 20, just south of Exit 23 of the Thruway in Albany. First responders can be seen on the scene. The incident happened in Commack, at a residence on Hayrick Lane, at around 8:30 a.m. Monday, Dec. 16. Suffolk County Police said the delivery driver pulled their Chevrolet SUV into the customer’s driveway but forgot to set the parking brake. A woman was arrested for stealing back a German Shepherd she sold earlier this month, authorities in Point Lookout announced on Thursday, Dec. 19. Elizabeth Dolce, 52, of Oak Beach, is accused of forcibly taking the 4-month-old German Shepherd from a 42-year-old woman who had been walking the dog near Beech Street and Glenwood Avenue around 2:52 p.m., according to Fourth Squad detectives. A Brooklyn man is accused of trying to scam an 80-year-old woman out of gold bars in Franklin Square, Nassau County police said on Thursday, Dec. 19. The victim received a text message claiming her Apple ID had been compromised, prompting her to call a phone number provided in the message, police said.
