Several people were nabbed on drunk driving charges in the Hudson Valley over the holiday weekend, including a Westchester woman rescued from a rolled-over car and a taxi driver, police said. The arrests were announced by the Putnam County Sheriff's Office on Wednesday, Oct. 17, and were all made over Columbus Day weekend. A teenager faces a felony charge after sending threatening emails to a school in the Hudson Valley, police said. The arrest resulted from an incident on Friday, Sept. 6, when a school in Putnam County's Green Chimneys School District within the town of Patterson alerted the Putnam County Sheriff's Office of concerning emails it had received, the Sheriff's Office said on Friday, Sept. 13. A road in the Hudson Valley was closed for several hours after a fire truck from a Connecticut department crashed while its driver was allegedly texting, authorities said. A Hudson Valley elected official is warning residents to be wary of fake texts asking them to pay unpaid parking tickets. In a post on X on Monday, July 1, New York Assemblyman Matt Slater, who represents parts of Putnam and Northern Westchester, warned residents of a fake text scheme involving scammers claiming that victims owe unpaid parking invoices in New York City. Human Remains Found In Hudson Valley Identified As Missing 25-Year-Old Woman
This story has been updated with a photo. New York State Police have confirmed that the remains of a missing Hudson Valley woman are those found at the property of a new home construction site. According to New York State Police Trooper AJ Hicks, the remains of Karen Angelillo Ramsey, age 25, were found in Putnam County in the town of Patterson on April 16 during excavation work at the property of a new home.
