Peter Lentz, 42, of Catskill, was re-arrested following a New York State Police investigation into indecent material involving minors on Thursday, March 6, the agency said.
Troopers began investigating Lentz in October 2024 following a mandatory meeting with his parole officer at his Catskill home. During the meeting, the officer discovered an electronic device belonging to Lentz that contained “indecent material” involving children, police said.
Lentz was initially arrested for a parole violation and taken to the Greene County jail, where he remained in custody. On Thursday, he was ordered to appear at a State Police facility, where he was processed on five new charges of possessing a sexual performance by a child, a felony.
Lentz previously served three years in state prison following convictions for sexually abusing a child under the age of 11 and possessing child pornography in September 2020, state records show. He was granted parole in January 2024.
