A 46-year-old man was walking southbound in front of 622 Hawkins Ave. when he was struck by a southbound 2016 Subaru Outback, according to Suffolk County Police. A Long Island woman formally accepted responsibility after her dog mauled a 2-year-old boy and injured the child’s uncle. Amy Willi, age 45, of Mastic, pleaded guilty to reckless endangerment in Suffolk County Court on Wednesday, Sept. 25. Police on Long Island are investigating the deaths of two young girls — ages 2 and 4 — who are believed to have drowned in a pond behind an apartment complex, authorities said. The girls were found behind the Fairfield Townhouses at Holtsville at 2 Victorian Court in Holtsville on Saturday, Sept. 7, the Suffolk County Police Department said.
