Fatal North Bellport Shooting: 43-Year-Old ID'd As Victim In Confrontation Between 2 Groups Police are investigating an overnight Long Island shooting that left one man dead and another injured. It happened Saturday, Aug. 31 at about 7:45 p.m. in North Bellport. The two individuals were shot during a confrontation between two groups of people on Patchogue Avenue, between Doane Avenue and Bayview Avenue, according to the Suffolk County Police. Woman Killed After Being Struck By Tractor-Trailer On Sunrise Highway In North Bellport Police are investigating after a woman was killed in an overnight Long Island crash. It happened around 1:50 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 20, in North Bellport. The victim was walking in the right lane of westbound Sunrise Highway (Route 27), east of Exit 55, when she was struck by a 2015 Kenworth tractor-trailer, according to Suffolk County Police. Maureen Howley, age 77, of Bellport, was transported to Long Island Community Hospital in Patchogue, where she was pronounced dead.  The tractor-trailer driver, a 30-year-old East Hampton woman, was not injured. Hit-Run Driver Injures 2 Employees Outside Long Island Campus Two employees are hospitalized following a hit-and-run crash outside a Long Island school. The incident happened at around 8:30 a.m. Monday, June 24, in the parking lot of Eastern Suffolk BOCES in North Bellport, located on Martha Avenue. Suffolk County Police said a driver struck a 31-year-old Coram man and a 41-year-old Ronkonkoma woman as they walked through the parking lot. The driver then fled the scene. The Coram man was taken by ambulance to Long Island Community Hospital in Patchogue and treated for serious injuries. The Ronkonkoma woman was taken to the same hospital for non-life…
