A 40-year-old Coram man was driving a 2004 Honda Accord westbound on Middle Country Road, approaching the intersection of Lake Avenue, when the vehicle struck a 2024 Chevrolet Sonic that had been traveling eastbound and was attempting to turn left onto Lake Avenue, Suffolk County Police said. It happened just before 1:30 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 29, in Jericho. That's when a 2016 Volvo tractor-trailer was traveling eastbound and struck a 2005 Isuzu in the vicinity of Exit 40E, according to Nassau County Police. Person Hospitalized After 2-Vehicle Coram Crash A person was hospitalized after a two-vehicle overnight Long Island crash. It happened around 6:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 18, in Coram. A 47-year-old Coram man was riding a bicycle northbound on West Yaphank Road, south of Beach Lane, when he was struck by a northbound 2015 Hyundai Sonata driven by a 48-year-old woman. The bicyclist was transported to Stony Brook University Hospital with serious injuries. Grace, The driver of the Sonata was not injured. Woman Attacked By Dog At Long Island Home A woman is recovering after being attacked by a dog on Long Island. The incident occurred just before 8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 18, in Elmont. Nassau County Police officers responding to the Newburgh Street residence found the 81-year-old had suffered multiple lacerations to various parts of her body.  The victim was transported to a local area hospital for evaluation and treatment of her injuries. She is currently listed in stable condition.  The Nassau County Emergency Service Unit (ESU) responded and secured the animals. The investigation is ongoing.

Wanted Driver Drags, Injures Deputy Following Traffic Stop In Bohemia, Police Say A Long Island man wanted by police tried fleeing a traffic stop, injuring a sheriff’s deputy in the process, authorities said. The incident happened in Bohemia on Lincoln Avenue, at around 1:30 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 28. Suffolk County Sheriff’s officials said the deputy stopped 37-year-old Christopher Brown, of Holbrook, and informed him he was wanted on an arrest warrant out of Amityville. The warrant stemmed from charges of driving without a license and displaying illegal plates.
