Trio Recruits Own Kids To Steal From Long Island Macy's, Police Say Three people are accused of recruiting their own children to help them steal from a Macy’s store on Long Island. The incident happened in East Garden City, at Roosevelt Field Mall, shortly before 7 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 17. According to Nassau County Police, a security guard stopped two women and a man who left the store while concealing dozens of items that weren't paid for. The trio were accompanied by three children, ages 3, 10, and 13. Together, the group stole 67 pieces of merchandise by concealing items inside bags and a stroller, police said. Human Remains Found Behind Lowe's Store In East Garden City An investigation is underway after human remains were found behind a Long Island Lowe's store. Nassau County Police received a 911 call at around 2 p.m. Tuesday, July 30, reporting possible remains in the wooded area in East Garden City, in the rear of 700 Dibblee Drive, near the Meadowbrook Parkway.  Upon arrival, officers noticed an abandoned encampment and discovered human remains.  The Nassau County PD Homicide Squad and the Medical Examiner responded to the scene.  The body was removed from the scene and brought to the Medical Examiner’s office for further examination.…

Drunk Mom With Toddler In Car Nabbed In Hit-Run At Long Island Children's Museum, Police Say A Long Island mother is facing DWI charges in connection with multiple hit-and-runs that occurred outside a children’s museum with her young daughter present. The incident happened in East Garden City, at the Long Island Children’s Museum on Railroad Avenue, at around 5:15 p.m. Wednesday, July 24. Nassau County Police said Monique Williams, age 35, of East Garden City first struck an unoccupied car in the museum’s parking lot before colliding with an occupied Nissan sedan on Davis Avenue and fleeing the scene.
