Javesh Persaud, age 34, of Shirley, pleaded guilty to sex trafficking and related charges in Suffolk County Court on Friday, Oct. 25. Prosecutors said Persaud met the 18-year-old victim in July 2023 on the now defunct website Omegle, which randomly paired strangers for virtual chats. 'Serial Rapist' Convicted Of 3 Violent Long Island Incidents A 36-year-old "serial rapist" was found guilty Friday, Sept. 6, of raping three women on Long Island after DNA linked him to the attacks, some of which stretch back nearly a decade, authorities said.  Queens resident Adell Hardwick, age 36, was convicted of three counts of rape, predatory sexual assault, and three counts of criminal sexual act, the Nassau County District Attorney's Office said.  He faces up to 25 years to life in prison when he's sentenced on Thursday, Sept. 26.  DA Anne Donnelly said Hardwick used his knowledge of Hempstead to carry out his attacks in …

Long Island Church Leader Raped Girl For Years: Police Police arrested a man who served as a leader at multiple Long Island churches after he allegedly sexually abused a child for nearly five years. Jose Wilfredo Vazquez Cardoza, age 49 of Uniondale, was arrested on Wednesday, July 10, Nassau County Police announced. Starting in August 2011, Cardoza reportedly had sexual relations with a 12-year-old girl at Iglesia Cristiana Unida in Hempstead, where he served as a church leader and as security at the time.
