Samsung Recalling More Than 1M Electric Ranges Following Hundreds Of Reported Fires More than a million Samsung electric ranges are subject to a recall after the company received hundreds of reports of fires that left several people injured and pets dead over the past decade. The Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) issued an alert advising that slide-in electric ranges are subject to the recall due to front-mounted knobs that can be accidentally activated by humans or pets, creating a fire hazard. The incident occurred in South Setauket on Saturday, March 9. According to Suffolk County Police, the woman used a credit card, which had been reported stolen by a Smithtown woman, to purchase a laptop valued at $1,954 from Best Buy, located at 261 Pond Path, on March 9. Know Him? Man Wanted For Theft From Long Island Store Police on Long Island are asking the public for help identifying a man who allegedly sold a MacBook Pro laptop from a Best Buy store. The incident occurred in Centereach at the store located at 261 Pond Path around 1 p.m., Wednesday, May 8. According to Suffolk County Crime Stoppers and Suffolk County Police detectives, the man stole a MacBook Pro laptop valued at $1,900 and left the area in what appeared to be a white Honda CR-V.
