13-Year-Old Caught With Brass Knuckles At Long Island School, Police Say A 13-year-old boy is facing charges after he was allegedly caught with brass knuckles at a Long Island school. The incident happened in Lake Ronkonkoma, at Samoset Middle School, at around 1 p.m. Friday, Sept. 13. Suffolk County Police said a staff member asked the teen to empty his bag for an unrelated incident when the brass knuckles were discovered. The student was arrested on suspicion of criminal possession of a weapon, a misdemeanor. He is expected to be arraigned in Suffolk County Court on a later date.

14-Year-Old Critically Injured In Lake Ronkonkoma Crash Involving Nesconset Woman A teenager suffered severe injuries in a crash near a Long Island intersection. It happened around 4:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 12, in Lake Ronkonkoma. A 56-year-old Nesconset woman was driving a 2024 Volkswagen SUV on Smith Road, near Cenacle Road, when the vehicle struck the 14-year-old boy who was rollerblading in the roadway, according to the Suffolk County Police. It happened on Thursday, June 6 in Bethpage, Nassau County Police said. Shortly before 4 p.m. that evening, a 16-year-old girl was at the intersection of Stewart Avenue and Burkhardt Avenue when a 2011 Chevrolet Tahoe struck her as it was driving north on Stewart Avenue.
