The incident happened in the westbound lanes near Meadowbrook State Parkway in North Merrick at around 10:15 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 1. New York State Police said a trooper was attempting to stop a vehicle that was speeding across multiple lanes when he pulled in front of the suspect’s vehicle as it stopped in traffic near the Eagle Avenue exit. According to Nassau County Police, Darwin Taylor, 72, from North Merrick, was at CVS in North Bellmore located at 2660 Jerusalem Ave, where a 14-year-old girl witnessed him exposing himself and touching his genitals in the parking lot. After a thorough investigation, Taylor was located and placed under arrest without incident. Long Island Man Charged After Throwing Explosive Device On Woman's Car A Long Island man was charged with arson after allegedly throwing an explosive device on a woman's car, causing heaving damage. The incident occurred around 5:30 a.m., Sunday, Feb. 5, 2023, in North Merrick.
