Dutchess will see a chance of rain and snow between 1 a.m. and 5 a.m. Friday, then a chance of snow after 5 a.m. There is a chance of a half-inch of accumulation before dawn and another half inch during the morning hours for most of Dutchess, including Southwest and Northwest Dutchess. Parts of East Dutchess could see 2-3 inches total accumulation.
After a mostly cloudy Friday morning, it will become gradually sunny on Friday in Dutchess, with a high between 38 and 40 degrees.
Areas south, and especially southeast of Dutchess, will see significantly more snow.
A Winter Storm Advisory will be in effect for Westchester, Putnam and Rockland counties from 1 a.m. until 10 a.m. In those counties, snow accumulations of 2 to 4 inches are expected, according to the National Weather Service. Localized higher amounts are possible.
