Hero Who Saved Man, Pet From Capital Region Fire As Teen Dies At Age 36: 'A True Friend'
Friends and loved ones are mourning the death of a man from the region who was once hailed as a hero for saving another man’s life. Rensselaer County resident Jacob Waldron, of Rensselaer, died in May 2023 at the age of 36, according to his obituary. An exact date and cause of death was not given. “It is with great sadness that Jake’s family announces the unexpected death of their beloved son and brother,” reads his memorial. Healthcare Aide Stole Elderly Resident's Money At Senior Facility In Capital Region, Police Say
An employee at a senior living facility in the region is facing charges after allegedly stealing from an elderly resident. State Police in Rensselaer County were first contacted in early September 2022 with reports that someone had stolen money from a resident at Ludder's Country Homes, located in West Sand Lake. Investigators eventually determined that 42-year-old Deborah Miller, of Bethlehem, a healthcare aid at the facility, was responsible for the theft, police said.
