Blaze At Hudson Valley Home Put Out With Help From Neighbors
Thanks to quick action from firefighters and help from neighbors, a blaze at a Hudson Valley home was prevented from getting worse. The blaze occurred in Putnam County on Sunday, June 2, when a fire broke out at a residence on West Lake Boulevard in Mahopac near Rockledge Place, according to the Mahopac Falls Volunteer Fire Department. Thanks to the help of neighbors who spotted the flames, firefighters quickly arrived at the home and contained the fire to the outside of the building, preventing further damage to the residence. Driver Hospitalized In Serious, Single-Car Mahopac Crash
A motorist was hospitalized after a serious single-car crash in Mahopac. Emergency responders rushed to the scene of the crash on West Lake Boulevard at around 8:15 p.m. Friday, May 17. Mahopac Falls Volunteer Fire, EMS, Heavy Rescue and Fire Police were dispatched. Chief Brian Sacher took Incident Command for the second time in six hours as Captain Chris Tompkins handled Operations, said Jack Casey, Mahopac Falls VFD public information officer. Photos: Tree Comes Down On Occupied Car In Mahopac
A lucky driver was not injured when a large tree can down on top of their vehicle and a firefighter happened to be nearby. The incident took place around 5:30 p.m. Monday on West Lake Boulevard, said officials with the Mahopac Falls Fire District. When the incident went out over the emergency radio for help, one of the district's firefighters was on his way home when he heard the call and responded in his work truck.
