A 19-year-old man and four others are accused of beating a father and son with baseball bats to steal their shoes at a Capital Region sports store over the weekend, authorities said.
Albany County resident Kyle H. Fowlkes, of Colonie, faces charges of robbery, two counts of assault, and possession of a weapon, Colonie police said. A judge ordered him held on a $10,000 cash bail.

Police captured three Hudson Valley teens for an alleged burglary in progress, one with a loaded gun.
The incident occurred in Dutchess County in the Tompkins Terrace area on Wednesday, April 3, in Beacon.
According to the Beacon Police, officers responded to the area and found the suspects had fled, but they were able to obtain a description of the teens.
A quick search of the area turned up the suspects, where police found a 15-year-old had a loaded, illegal weapon, the department said.

A 24-year-old from the region is behind bars after allegedly being caught with a loaded weapon during a warrant search.
Dutchess County resident Jakai Rivera, of Poughkeepsie, was charged with criminal possession of a weapon on Wednesday, Nov. 22 during the search in the town of Poughkeepsie, said Trooper AJ Hicks of the New York State Police.
Hicks said Rivera was in illegal possession of a loaded Glock model 21C handgun.

Two men are behind bars on murder charges after allegedly gunning down a man inside a home in the region.
Multiple people called 911 shortly before 7 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 22, reporting gunshots at a Schenectady home on State Street near Grove Place, according to Schenectady Police.
When officers arrived, they found a 42-year-old man on the second floor suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.

Orange County resident Junando Dawkins, age 29, of Newburgh was apprehended at the US Army base in Fort Bragg, North Carolina, New York State Police announced on Saturday, March 11.
