Hudson Valley Man Accused Of Murdering Woman, Dismembering Her Body, Police Say
A man from the region has been charged with allegedly killing a woman and then dismembering her body before disposing of the parts.
Ulster County resident Damon Foy, age 50, of Kerhonkson, was arraigned in Ulster County Court on Friday, April 19, for a murder charge and remanded to Ulster County Jail without bail.
According to the Ulster County Sheriff's Office, between Sunday, March 31, and Monday, April 1, Foy murdered Alberta Dale, age 44, of Pennsylvania, dismembered her and was in the process of disposing of her body when law enforcement intervened.

24-Year-Old Busted Driving Stolen Truck In Hudson Valley, Police Say
An out-of-state man was caught driving a stolen truck in the Hudson Valley, authorities said.
State police in Ulster County stopped the vehicle at around 7:30 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 30, as it drove south on Highway 209 in the town of Wawarsing.
While talking with the driver, 24-year-old Jonathen Wright, of Newaygo, Michigan (located in Western Michigan just north of Grand Rapids), troopers determined that the 2001 GMC 3500 had been reported stolen from Newport News, Virginia.
Wright also had a suspended license out of Michigan, police said.

Here's How Many Are Still Without Power In Hudson Valley County Hit Hardest By Storm
Four days after a wintry storm rolled through the region, hundreds in the Hudson Valley are still without power.
In Ulster County, the area hit hardest by the storm, more than 1,900 Central Hudson customers were still reporting outages late Tuesday morning, Feb. 8, while there were 54 in Dutchess also left in the dark, according to the utility company.

An area man was arrested for allegedly breaking into a home and stealing a slot machine containing $20,000 in quarters and a shotgun.
Ulster County resident Dominick Sanchez, 20, of Ellenville, was arrested by state police on Wednesday, Dec. 9, for burglary following an investigation into the Thursday, Dec. 3 incident, said Trooper Steven Nevel.
According to Nevel, state police responded to a residence on North Old Greenfield Road in the town of Wawarsing for a report of a burglary.

Man Accused Of Stealing $5K Golf Cart In Area
An Ulster County man has been arrested for allegedly stealing a golf cart.
New York State Police arrested Ulster County resident Etienne Dodge, 31, of Wawarsing, on Thursday, Nov. 12, for the theft which took place on Thursday, Nov. 5, said Trooper Steven Nevel.
According to Nevel, on Nov. 5, state police received a complaint of a stolen golf cart stolen from a local business in Accord.
The golf cart was valued at $5,000. After an extensive investigation and numerous interviews, the golf cart was located at Lower Jennybrook Road in the town of Wawarsing on Nov. 12, Nevel said.

Duo Charged For String Of Commercial Burglaries In Area, State Police Say
Two in the Hudson Valley were arrested after allegedly breaking into multiple commercial businesses, state police said.
Wawarsing residents Joseph Zsebehazy, 35, and Etienne Dodge, 31, were arrested this week following an investigation into break-ins at multiple businesses in the Ellenville and Kingston areas.
New York State Police said that the two men were identified on surveillance video from a pair of burglaries in Ellenville and Marbletown, leading to their arrest this week.

After seeing a spike in new novel coronavirus (COVID-19) cases, Ulster County Executive Pat Ryan is warning that the fight against the virus is far from over.
There were more than 45 new cases reported in Ulster County between Thursday, July 2, and Sunday, July 5, prompting Ryan to issue warning to his constituents that the fight isn’t over.

Man Charged In Fatal Area Stabbing
A 21-year-old area man has been charged with the stabbing death of a man in the area.
Sullivan County resident Tiquan Underwood, of Fallsburg, was arrested following the stabbing of Ulster County resident Gomar Gonzalez, 24, of Wawarsing, around 9 p.m., on Tuesday, Dec. 3, said Trooper Steven Nevel, a spokesman for the New York State Police.
According to Nevel, Gonzalez was stabbed multiple times on Route 209 in the Town of Wawarsing. He was rushed to Ellenville Regional Hospital where he died.
Underwood has been charged with felony manslaughter, Nevel said.
