The body of a 20-year-old Hudson Valley man has been recovered by law enforcement from an area creek after a possible drowning was reported. The incident took place around 6:20 p.m., Tuesday, June 29, when the Dutchess County Sheriff's Office, New Hackensack Fire Department, and Town of Wappinger Ambulance to a possible drowning in the Wappinger Creek located behind the Wappingers Falls Trailer Park on New Hackensack Road. State Police Attempting To ID Body Found At Park In Area
The New York State Police are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying a deceased male whose body was found in the area. The body of the man was recovered on Saturday, May 1 in Dutchess County from the Wappinger Creek in Overlook Park in the Town of LaGrange, police said. The cause of death is still under investigation, according to police. Photos: $3.2M Bridge Project Completed In Area
The $3.2 million dollar replacement of the Salt Point Turnpike Bridge in the Town of Pleasant Valley has been completed. Construction, which included the replacement of the bridge over Wappinger Creek, the reconfiguration of an intersection and the replacement of an adjacent culvert, began on April 16 of 2019. The new bridge has two new four-foot-wide shoulders, improving safety and mobility along State Route 115, and the culvert promotes the health of the waterway by allowing water to flow more freely through the area. ID Released For Woman Found Dead In Hudson Valley Stream
The identity has been released of a 36-year-old woman who was found dead in a stream in the Hudson Valley. State Police responded to a 911 call for a body found in a tributary to the Wappinger Creek, accessible from Maloney Road in the Town of Wappinger, on Feb. 27, 2018. The deceased has been identified as Ashanti Moore of Brooklyn. An investigation has revealed that Moore had traveled through or stayed in the areas of the Hudson Valley, Binghamton, Buffalo, and Pennsylvania from August to September 2017, prior to her death, state police said. Updated Photo: Police Call For Help IDing Woman Found Dead In Hudson Valley
State Police renewed their call on Thursday asking for the public's help in identifying a woman whose body was found in Wappinger Creek tributary stream. Police have also released a new photo of a button that was on the woman's sweater in hopes that someone will recognize it, said New York State Trooper AJ Hicks.
