One person was killed in a two-vehicle crash in the region. It took place in Dutchess County in the town of Poughkeepsie around 5:40 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 19 on Violet Avenue at the intersection with Spring Street. According to Lt. Patrick Barry, of the town of Poughkeepsie Police, a 2014 Toyota SUV, made a left turn from Spring Street onto Violet Ave (northbound). Suspect Charged In Stabbing During Town Of Poughkeepsie Altercation
A verbal argument that escalated into a physical altercation has now led to the arrest of a man in the Town of Poughkeepsie for allegedly stabbing his victim, police announced on Thursday, June 6. Officers from the Town of Poughkeepsie Police Department responded to a Violet Avenue home at approximately 10 p.m. on Tuesday, May 28, where there was a report of a domestic incident. The investigation led to the arrest of Poughkeepsie resident Richard Johnson, 29, who allegedly stabbed his victim in the upper abdomen with a knife. Town Of Poughkeepsie Pedestrian Hit By Car Has Life-Threatening Injuries
A 72-year-old Town of Poughkeepsie woman received serious head injuries after being hit by a car on Violet Avenue, according to the Town of Poughkeepsie Police. The incident took place around 3:20 p.m. Wednesday near 347 Violet Ave., when the woman stepped onto the roadway and was struck by a car traveling north, said Lt. Brian Wagner. The woman suffered serious head injuries and was taken to a local hospital for treatment. The car was driven by a 49-year-old man from Red Hook, Wagner said. Pedestrian Struck In Town Of Poughkeepsie
Part of Violet Avenue in the Town of Poughkeepsie was closed late Wednesday afternoon due to a serious crash in which a pedestrian was struck, according to police. The crash occurred around 3:30 Wednesday near 347 Violet Avenue, police said.
