Motorist Killed In Hudson Valley Crash With SUV One person was killed in a two-vehicle crash in the region. It took place in Dutchess County in the town of Poughkeepsie around 5:40 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 19 on Violet Avenue at the intersection with Spring Street. According to Lt. Officers from the Town of Poughkeepsie Police Department responded to a Violet Avenue home at approximately 10 p.m. on Tuesday, May 28, where there was a report of a domestic incident. Town Of Poughkeepsie Pedestrian Hit By Car Has Life-Threatening Injuries A 72-year-old Town of Poughkeepsie woman received serious head injuries after being hit by a car on Violet Avenue, according to the Town of Poughkeepsie Police. The incident took place around 3:20 p.m. Wednesday near 347 Violet Ave., when the woman stepped onto the roadway and was struck by a car traveling north, said Lt. Brian Wagner. The woman suffered serious head injuries and was taken to a local hospital for treatment. The car was driven by a 49-year-old man from Red Hook, Wagner said. Pedestrian Struck In Town Of Poughkeepsie Part of Violet Avenue in the Town of Poughkeepsie was closed late Wednesday afternoon due to a serious crash in which a pedestrian was struck, according to police. The crash occurred around 3:30 Wednesday near 347 Violet Avenue, police said.
