A four-vehicle crash involving a school bus on Route 9 in the Hudson Valley sent 11 students and several drivers to the hospital. The incident occurred at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 14, at 4699 Post Road in Hyde Park. According to Hyde Park Police Chief Robert Benson, a preliminary investigation revealed that the collision involved a 2023 Honda Accord and a 2020 Hyundai traveling southbound on Route 9. A mother and her 1-year-old daughter were killed in a large house fire in the region that left another child and a man were seriously injured. The blaze broke out in Dutchess County in the town of Clinton at 10:40 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 13. According to New York State Police Trooper AJ Hicks, troopers responded to a residential house fire with the East Clinton Fire Department on Clinton Hollow Road in the town of Clinton. The owner of a Hudson Valley business died at the age of 47. Dutchess County resident Muneer Tony Nesheiwat died at Vassar Medical Center in Poughkeepsie on Tuesday, Aug. 9, according to his obituary. He was a lifelong resident of Poughkeepsie and the owner of Auto City in Poughkeepsie, his obituary said. Nesheiwat was also a member of St. James Church. Man Shot Twice In Area Refuses To Cooperate With Police
A man who was shot at least twice in the area is refusing to cooperate with police to provide details. The 26-year-old City of Poughkeepsie resident was found around 6:48 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 10, after the police department received numerous 911 calls reporting shots fired, said Det. Lt. Matt Clark. When officers responded to the area of Montgomery Street and Garfield Place they located multiple shell casing, but no victim, Clark said.
