Traffic Alert: Bridge Replacement To Close Roadway In Region Drivers should note that a section of a Sullivan County roadway will be closed for a bridge replacement. The replacement will occur in the town of Cochecton on County Road 115—Odell Road. The bridge is located immediately west of the intersection of Fred White Road with County Road 115, said Dan Hurst, spokesman for Sullivan County.  This section of the roadway is scheduled to be closed to all traffic starting at 8 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 14, and will remain closed for approximately three weeks.  Travelers will be directed on a detour route using Fred White Road and Tyler Road.

Road Closure Alert: Busy Hudson Valley Roadway To Undergo Culvert Replacement Motorists will want to make note that a busy Hudson Valley roadway will be closed for more than a month for construction upgrades. Route 208 in Orange County in the town of Hamptonburgh will be closed between Forrester Road and Station Road from Monday, July 10 through Sunday, Aug. 20 for culvert replacement, according to the state Department of Transportation. Drivers should follow the posted detour using Route 207 and Maybrook Road as an alternate. Motorists are urged to slow down and drive responsibly in work zones. Fines are doubled for speeding in a work zone.

City Worker Dragged 40 Feet By Car Of Irate Driver In Fairfield County, Police Say A Fairfield County city employee is recovering after being dragged by a car of an irate driver for more than 40 feet down a roadway while performing construction work. The incident took place in Danbury around 1 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 26 on King Street. Officers from the Danbury Police Department responded to King Street for a report of a pedestrian hit by a car. Officials Announce Upcoming Taconic State Parkway Ramp Closure State officials announced an upcoming ramp closure on the Taconic State Parkway. The ramp from the southbound parkway in Dutchess County to Exit 37A (I-84 eastbound) in East Fishkill will close on Wednesday, Sept. 28, between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m., the New York State Department of Transportation announced. Officials said the ramp will be closed to accommodate guide rail repairs. "Motorists should follow the posted detour utilizing Exit 35 (Miller Hill Road) to the Taconic State Parkway northbound to Exit 37A (Interstate 84 eastbound) as an alternate," the department said.
