The Washington Post reported that officials said on Monday, Jan. 10, that they anticipate this tax season will be "frustrating" for preparers and taxpayers due in part to pandemic-related delays and previous budget cuts to the IRS. Seen It? Car With NY Plates Steals From Mailbox At New Milford Home
Police in New Milford are investigating a fraud complaint that saw a group of people swipe mail from an open mailbox in the area. Officers were dispatched to a Pleasant View Road residence at approximately 1:30 p.m. on March 14, where there was a complaint from the homeowner, who said that the mail had been removed from the mailbox unlawfully. A surveillance photo released by police shows three male suspects who are in what appears to be a newer model white Honda Accord with a New York State registration.
