Murder Of Convenience Store Clerk In Capital Region Remains Mystery 31 Years On
Three decades after Betty Conley was shot and killed while working at a convenience store in the region, her killer has yet to face justice. The Saratoga County murder happened in the town of Charlton, at the Xtra Mart on State Route 67, at around 3 a.m. on July 8, 1993. Sheriff’s officials said the 37-year-old Conley was working an overnight shift when someone shot her once in the head, killing her. 28-Year-Old Father Killed, Second Victim Airlifted Following 2-Vehicle Capital Region Crash
A young father was killed and another motorist was hospitalized with serious injuries following a two-vehicle crash in the region. The Rensselaer County wreck happened at around 11:30 p.m. Saturday, May 11, on State Route 67 in Pittstown. New York State Police said a disabled vehicle was stopped in the eastbound lane after several people moved it from the shoulder, when a motorcycle heading eastbound crashed into it. Murder Suspect Accused Of Setting Fire To Capital District Business
A man already jailed on murder charges has been accused of setting fire to a Capital District business in 2017. Saratoga County Sheriff’s deputies began investigating after someone broke into Curtis Lumber on State Route 67 in the Town of Ballston after the business closed on Nov. 27, 2017. The suspect spent hours on the property sabotaging electrical and gas systems in several buildings, damaging computer systems, and tampering with the 911 system on a Verizon Wireless tower located on the property, according to police.
