New Storm System Will Bring Periods Of Rain, Gusty Winds With Some Snow In Parts Of Region
A stretch of dry weather to start off the spring season will be followed by the arrival of a storm system that will bring periods of rain and gusty winds to the region. Tuesday, March 22 will be mostly sunny with a high temperature in the mid to upper 50s. A drop in the relative humidity below 30 percent in the afternoon, coupled with winds gusting between 20 and 25 miles per hour, will lead to an elevated risk of fire spread in much of the region, according to the National Weather Service. Line Of Severe Storms Will Bring Downpours, Strong Winds, Possible Isolated Tornadoes
Potentially severe thunderstorms with strong wind gusts will sweep through the region on the final day of the winter season on Saturday, March 19. "The threat will stem from an area of low pressure and its associated cold front that will march eastward through the Ohio Valley and Northeast through the day Saturday and into the evening hours Saturday night," said AccuWeather Meteorologist Brandon Buckingham. Snow Joke: New Storm Could Bring Up To 3 Inches Of Accumulation
This story has been updated. Let's start with the good news. Temperatures will actually become much more spring-like, starting in the middle of next week, with the last of the winter weather likely in the rearview mirror once and for all.
