Man Steals Catalytic Converter From Car Parked At High School In Hudson Valley: Police
A man faces numerous charges after allegedly stealing catalytic converters from vehicles throughout the Hudson Valley and Connecticut, including one that was parked at a high school, police said. The arrest stemmed from an incident that happened on Thursday, March 23 around 3 p.m., when a Putnam County sheriff's deputy assigned as a school resource officer at Putnam Valley High School was told that a vehicle parked in the school's lot had a catalytic converter stolen from it. Well-Known Man Killed After Crashing 1941 Classic Car, CT State Police Say
A well-known 75-year-old man was killed when he lost control of the classic car he was driving and was ejected from the vehicle. Arthur Kelly of Southington was driving a 1941 Willys Model 441 on North Main St., in Southington, when he crossed the double yellow lines near Dunkin Donuts and collided with a parked, unoccupied vehicle off the road and shoulder, said Southington Police Sgt. Jeffrey Dobratz. Kelly was ejected from his vehicle and sustained serious injuries. He was transported by ambulance to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead, Dobratz said.
