Former Phys-Ed Teacher In Northern Westchester Charged With Grand Larceny
A Northern Westchester physical education teacher is no longer employed following his recent arrest for grand larceny. Michael Yoder, age 33, of Mahopac, who worked at the Primrose Elementary School in Somers, was arrested on Tuesday, Jan. 11, by Carmel for allegedly stealing $1,200 from a home. Carmel Police Lt. Stephen Kunze confirmed the arrested for grand larceny but declined to offer further details due to the ongoing investigation. Yoder, who also coached boys basketball and girls volleyball in the district, was reportedly babysitting for the family when he allegedly stole the money.…

19: Three Northern Westchester High Schools To Hold Graduation Ceremonies At JV Mall
Three Northern Westchester high schools will be hosting “drive-in” commencement ceremonies for their seniors at the Jefferson Valley Mall in Yorktown. The Bedford, Katonah-Lewisboro and Somers school districts all announced that they will be hosting commencement ceremonies for the Class of 2020 in the mall’s spacious parking lot on Tuesday, June 23. School Bus Driver Charged With DWI Being Investigated For Inappropriate Conduct With Students
The school bus driver in Northern Westchester who was charged this week with operating his bus while allegedly intoxicated is reportedly under investigation for having inappropriate conduct with students. William Mendez, 61, of Somers, is under investigation for allegedly having inappropriate contact with students before his DWI arrest in Somers, when police say he had a blood-alcohol concentration of .22, nearly triple the legal limit.
