4 Suspects Accused Of Leaving Supermarket In Hudson Valley With Over $1K In Stolen Items
Four people were slapped with criminal charges after entering a Westchester supermarket with a child, filling their carts with merchandise, and leaving without trying to pay, police announced.
The arrests follow an incident on Saturday, Aug. 24 that happened at Wegmans in Harrison at 106 Corporate Park Dr., near the junction of I-684 and I-287, Harrison Police announced on Wednesday, Aug. 28.

Smile, You're On Body Camera: TJ Maxx To Equip Employees To Fight Shoplifting
To fight the recent rise in shoplifting and retail theft, shoppers could see store security employees wearing body-worn cameras to help catch thieves red-handed.
TJX, the parent company of TJ Maxx, Marshalls, Serria, HomeSense, and HomeGoods, said will begin equipping some employees with body-worn cameras similar to those worn by police, the Boston Globe reported. The company started testing the initiative last year.
The company operates nearly 3,400 stores nationwide.

Woman Stole More Than $5K From Northern Westchester Macy's, Police Say
A Dutchess County resident was arrested for allegedly shoplifting more than $5,000 in merchandise from a Northern Westchester Macy's.
Nima Simpson, 31, of Poughkeepsie, was arrested on Monday, Dec. 28, by Yorktown Police for the incident which took place in August 2020, police said.
An investigation found that Simpson stole $5,503 worth of goods from the store, police said.
Simpson, who was charged with grand larceny, turned herself in to police and was released on her own recognizance.
She is scheduled to appear in court on Thursday, Feb. 4.
Northern Westchester Man Nabbed Stealing Jewelry From Walmart, Police Say
A Northern Westchester man was arrested for alleged shoplifting after he was located on a city bus.
James P. Lemons, 31, of Ossining, was arrested on Monday, Nov. 30, by New York State Police after they responded to a theft call around 8:30 a.m., at the Walmart on East Main Street, in Cortlandt, said Trooper AJ Hicks.
An investigation determined Lemon stole several pieces of jewelry before fleeing, Hicks said.
Troopers located Lemon on the public bus line and placed him into custody without incident.

A man arrested then released per New York bail reform laws twice, stole five cars over two days, robbing two stores and leading officers on a police chase in the area.
On Thursday, Aug. 18 at 3 a.m., after stopping an erratic driver on South Road (Route 9) in Poughkeepsie, police determined that a vehicle driven by 23-year-old Oneida County resident Andre-Pierre J. Cadrette had been reported stolen on Saturday, Aug. 8 from the thief's home city of Rome.
