Some Hudson Valley residents awoke to loud booms and mild shaking early in the morning after a mild earthquake or "seismic activity" hit the area. According to Dutchess County Emergency Management, the quake occurred around 3 a.m., Wednesday, June 26, originating in the town of Poughkeepsie between Sheafe Road and Camelot Road. The New York State Division of Criminal Justice Services issued an alert to Dutchess County residents regarding the residency of 30-year-old Jason Pavelock, who has moved from Poughquag to a residence on Sheafe Road in Poughkeepsie. An alleged dealer has been arrested and charged following a drug raid in the Town of Poughkeepsie, police say. The Dutchess County Drug Task Force carried out a search warrant at 621 Sheafe Road on Wednesday, March 6. The warrant was the result of a narcotics sales investigation in the area.
