Five Hudson Valley and Capital Region residents and seven transportation companies have admitted to stealing millions from Medicaid. A New York State Trooper from the Hudson Valley remains hospitalized after being struck by a pickup truck on I-87 while outside of his vehicle during a traffic stop. Know Him? Police Searching For This Burglary Suspect In Region
State Police are asking the public for help identifying a man who allegedly committed a burglary. The incident occurred in Saratoga County in October in Halfmoon. According to state police from Clifton Park, the man has a very distinct "518" tattoo on their right hand and a large tattoo on the right side of their neck. The first person charged in a major drug trafficking ring in the Capital Region and Dutchess County, busted last year and included 25 people, has been sentenced to prison. New York Attorney General Letitia James announced on Tuesday, Oct. 29, the convictions of members of the major drug trafficking ring that distributed heroin and fentanyl, as well as powder and crack cocaine in Albany, Dutchess, Rensselaer, Saratoga, and Schenectady counties. This story has been updated. A woman was killed in a two-vehicle crash after her car rolled multiple times on the Adirondack Northway. The collision occurred in Saratoga County around 4:50 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 1, on the Northway north of the Exit 14 off-ramp in Saratoga Springs. A 42-year-old man was killed during an industrial accident after being caught in a compactor at work in the region. A woman from the region is facing multiple felonies after police say she tried to set her mother on fire and burn down their home over the weekend. Saratoga County resident Ashley L. Fatal House Fire: 84-Year-Old Woman ID'd As Victim In Capital Region Blaze
Authorities have identified a woman who died in a house fire in the region. The Saratoga County incident happened in the town of Milton, at a residence on Greenwood Drive, at around 5 p.m. Saturday, July 27. Ballston Spa Fire officials said several agencies responded for a house that was on fire and possibly occupied. Once the flames were extinguished and firefighters got inside, they found the body of an 84-year-old woman. On Tuesday, July 30, the Saratoga County Sheriff’s Office identified the victim as Mary Lou Cotton, of Milton. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
