Man Found Drowning In Hudson Valley Lake Dies At Hospital
A man died after he was found unresponsive in waters near a Hudson Valley beach, police announced. The incident leading to the man's death began in Putnam County on Tuesday, July 16 around 1:45 p.m., when a possible drowning incident was reported at Canopus Lake Beach in Fahnestock State Park off Route 301 in Kent. According to Kent Police, arriving first responders and police helped park staff and lifeguards perform CPR on an 82-year-old man who was found unresponsive in waters near the beach. Roadwork Alert: Taconic Parkway Lane Closure Scheduled
There will be single-lane closures for several weeks on the Taconic State Parkway. The New York State Department of Transportation issued an alert cautioning motorists that beginning at 7 a.m. on Wednesday, May 27 in Putnam and Dutchess counties, there will be northbound lane closures daily through Friday, July 3 in Putnam Valley, Kent, and East Fishkill. Driver Linked To Suspicious Carmel Incident Cleared By Police
Update: A person who identified himself as the driver of a pickup truck involved in a suspicious incident with a 5-year-old in Carmel spoke with detectives investigating the case. "It was learned that the driver did stop to check that the 5-year-old running in the roadway was OK," Town of Carmel Police Chief Michael Cazzari said late Tuesday afternoon, Feb. 4. Taconic State Parkway Traffic Stoppages Scheduled 'Until Further Notice'
The New York State Department of Transportation is advising motorists of upcoming stoppages on the Taconic State Parkway. The Department says that periodic traffic stoppages are scheduled on the Taconic State Parkway northbound and southbound between Exit 25 (Peekskill Hollow Road) and Exit 31 (Route 301) in the Putnam County town of Putnam Valley. The stoppages will occur weekly beginning Wednesday, Oct. 30 until further notice between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. while crews perform maintenance activities, weather permitting. The first Putnam County Sheriff’s Office Town Hall of 2019 has been scheduled for Thursday, April 25 at the Kent Volunteer Fire House. Lane Reopens After Crash On Taconic Parkway
This story has been updated. The left lane has reopened following a crash on a stretch of the Taconic State Parkway late Thursday afternoon, Jan. 10 in Putnam County.
